Bluebell Dairy & Ice Cream Parlour

Shortlisted in the Great Food Club Awards 2015, Bluebell Dairy is perched on the outskirts of Locko Park, an estate near Spondon. It is a working farm with more than 50 years’ experience of milking cows. But it wasn’t until more recently that the Brown family decided to make their now locally famous handmade ice cream, which they sell to many restaurants, eateries and caterers throughout the region. With an ever-increasing variety of unique and quirky flavours such as ‘Cherry Bakewell’, ‘Carrot Cake’ and ‘Tropical Coconut’, it’s easy to forget that there’s a lot more to Bluebell Dairy than the ice cream parlour.

On site, there’s also a popular tearoom, which is a great place for an afternoon tea or just a slice of homemade cake and a locally roasted fresh coffee. Plus there’s a play area for the kiddies and an animal patch where you can meet the farmyard animals.

Regular events are held here too including ‘pudding nights’, where you enjoy a light main course followed by five homemade desserts all served with their delicious ice cream. There are also parent and child mornings with themes that change weekly, and Bluebell can host children’s parties too.

There really is something for everyone at Bluebell Dairy. It’s one for all the family and is perfect for a warm summer’s day.
