Manor Organic Farm Shop

Manor Organic Farm Shop is a family-run business nestled within a working organic farm. As you drive up the farm track, past the animals and towards the small car park, it’s clear you’re visiting a genuine farm shop rather than an outlet with nothing more than agricultural pretensions.

On site is an award-winning food shop, butchery and bakery. As you wander towards the farm shop, the smell of fresh bread is unmissable. With a bakery on-site, the cakes, breads and pies are not to be missed! All are made organically and freshly prepared each day. The meat in the shop is organic and free-range, including their own grass-fed Longhorn beef and Pedigree Lamb. Products in the shop are available both for delivery and collection, either ordered through the website or in the shop.

With organic and local at the forefront of the family’s mind, all products in the shop are carefully sourced from local producers, including vegetables and dairy products, such as organic milk from a neighbouring village. Graeme Matravers, who farms the land at Manor Farm and is a trustee within the Soil Association, explains: “We are first-generation farmers who have been farming organically since 1989. I believe it is a positive philosophy and there’s more to it than just avoiding chemicals and fertilisers. It is a sustainable approach that views the farm as a whole system in harmony, working with climate, nature and the planet.”

Manor Organic Farm is part of an environmental scheme that aims to restore wild wooded meadows, traditional grasslands and hedgerows. As if that weren’t enough, the shop, butchery and bakery are powered almost entirely by solar panels on top of the sheep shed.
