The Tickled Trout

The Tickled Trout is a village pub with a flair for food. The menus combine Derbyshire ingredients with light Italian touches. So, alongside the homemade Derbyshire ‘pie of the day’ and locally sourced lemon and thyme-marinated spatchcock chicken are the likes of Derbyshire lamb-and-mint balls with spicy arrabiatta sauce and farfalle pasta, plus ‘Day Boat Fish Pasta’ – which consists of fresh fish brought up from Cornwall on the same day it was caught.

Local sourcing is at the heart of the ethos here, and nearby suppliers include Seven Hill Bakery of Sheffield, Hartington Cheese and Woodthorpe Grange Dairy Farm.

The feel of the Tickled Trout is modern and bright with plenty of exposed wood and neutral colours. The layout is with dining in mind, although popping in for a pint of one of the four locally brewed ales is encouraged too.
