Fenways Burgers, Smokehouse & Bar opens in Loughborough

Fenways Burgers, Smokehouse & Bar will open on Baxter Gate, Loughborough, Leicestershire, on April 13.

Fenways is the Orange Tree Group’s most recent venture. The restaurant takes cues from some of London’s most popular street-food concepts, and is inspired by the Group’s much-missed pop-up restaurant The Smokehouse in Leicester.

Expect an impressive selection of handmade burgers and flavoursome 14-hour smoked cuts of meat alongside premium cocktails, all served in a laid-back, individual setting.

Manager Andy Darch, who previously managed The Kelso in Loughborough (another Orange Tree venue), says: “For the first time in Loughborough you can choose from a large selection of smoked meats and burgers, then match your meal with an array of craft beers, wines, cocktails or shakes.”

The restaurant showcases an individual, eclectic décor – a look for which the Orange Tree have become renowned. One of the most impressive areas is the ‘inside out’ garden, which is well covered and feels like stepping into another part of the restaurant.

Low and slow cooking
Head chef is the highly rated Liam Watson, who previously worked at The Smokehouse in Leicester. Liam says: “I’m really excited to be bringing BBQ and smoked food into Loughborough, it’s always fun to take a product that people are so familiar with and take it to a new level. We’re all about the low and slow cooking and can’t wait to launch the burger menu. We’re using fantastic meats from Leicestershire and further afield to ensure all the dishes are high quality.”
