Great Food Club: a trusted guide first, a list of member offers second

I’d like to share a few thoughts on Great Food Club, which was launched in November 2011. First and foremost I believe Great Food Club’s role is to guide members and food lovers to fantastic local food and drink places. The club was never designed to be just a list of member offers with no regard to quality. In fact, if we find a restaurant, shop, or producer that we love (and ‘love’ is by definition subjective), we will add them to the network, even if they don’t want to run a member offer.

The long-term mission is to build a comprehensive and useful local network – one that’s also continuously edited and updated – that food and drink lovers can trust. And which in turn pushes customers to these wonderful independent businesses. The member offers that you can claim with your membership card are a bonus. An important bonus, but a bonus nonetheless.

So bash your postcode into the search box on the homepage, press go, and see what comes back. If your favourite place is missing, let me know who they are by emailing me here and we’ll pay them a visit.
