200 Degrees Coffee Shop & School

200 Degrees Cafe is an independent coffee shop and barista school combined. On a different site in Nottingham is the 200 Degrees Roast House, where the 200 Degrees story began.

The cafe – which used to be a pub, The Flying Horse Inn – is a warm and stylish environment where you can enjoy top quality coffee and freshly prepared food, from smoked salmon bagels and buttermilk bacon muffins for breakfast, through to freshly baked breads, sandwiches, quiches and salads for lunch. There are also plenty of cakes and treats on offer throughout the day. It really is a nice, spacious place to sit back and relax, with plenty of exposed wood and bricks, leather armchairs and a cosy, relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

Pride of place behind the counter are what the 200 Degrees team describe as “the best espresso kit in the world today”: a Victoria Arduino 388 Black Eagle and 2 Simonelli Mythos 1s. These machines create excellent coffee from Rainforest Alliance Certified beans roasted at the 200 Degrees Roastery on Meadow Lane.

Upstairs at the cafe is the barista school, where 200 Degrees’ coffee experts teach students everything there is to know about being a barista. The Basic Barista Class takes around three hours, while the Home Brew Coffee Class is around 2.5 hours.

Excellent coffee200 degrees stands above other coffee shops in Nottingham. The look is contemporary and the drinks themselves are brilliant. The only criticism is how hard it is to get a table!
