Bohemia Alconbury Weald
Bohemia Alconbury Weald is a unique cafe, bar and bistro with a rather interesting story. During WWII, this building, known as the Watch Office, was the central operations hub for RAF Alconbury and once contained an operations room, telephone exchange, teleprinter room and observation room. Imagine if those walls could talk! It was badly damaged by bombing in 1943 but has now been beautifully restored, creating a perfect place if you’re seeking somewhere a little bit different.
During the day, you can tuck into breakfast, brunch or lunch (The Bohemian with fried halloumi, avocado, poached egg and sourdough is a good choice), sample some of Bohemia’s own coffee (they’ve got their own micro-roastery), or have a cheeky glass of wine. In the evenings, the menu includes tapas-style sharing plates inspired by world cuisine, which are best paired with one (or two) of the delicious cocktails.
