Clam & Cork
Clam & Cork is a wonderful fish stall at Doncaster Market. Arrive early and fight for a stool so you can see the chefs lovingly preparing your meal right in front of you!
Owner Michael Berry and his wife Kerry Ann own Doncaster Seafoods, an excellent shellfish stall in Doncaster Fish Market. Next to it is their latest venture – Clam & Cork – which serves beautifully prepared fish dishes.
There is plenty to choose from – a mix of small and large plates, plus daily specials. On our visit, we enjoyed superb oysters accompanied by lemon and a dash of traditional shallot vinegar. Next, from the specials board, came a wonderfully cooked tranche of wild sea trout served with asparagus, broad bean and pea salad. Another standout dish was crab and chorizo bonbons with basil and lemon aioli.
This place is a treat – it’s top of our list whenever we’re in Doncaster.
