The Clifton Sausage, Bath
The Clifton Sausage’s first outlet launched in Clifton Village, Bristol, in 2002, and its second restaurant arrived in Bath in 2016.
If you love sausages, you’re in for a treat! With a focus on great British food, the kitchen team work hard to produce fresh, seasonal dishes using locally sourced ingredients. As you’d expect from the name, there is a good choice of sausages on the menu with at least six varieties at any one time, plus a weekly special. As well as sausages, expect to see classic British pub dishes: slow-roast belly pork, beef and chorizo burgers, daily Cornish fish specials and of course, steak and chips.
For the perfect pork banger, try the Gloucester Old Spot, or the eponymous Clifton Sausage that combines pork, cider and wholegrain mustard. If you want something a little different how about the Cotswold Lamb, Mint and Apricot? Vegetarians are also well catered for with a choice of at least two veggie sausages. Once you’ve chosen your banger, all that’s left to do is select your mash – try the champ, it’s smooth as velvet and full of spring onions. Perfect with that rich onion gravy.
