Denstone Hall Farm Shop & Café
Denstone Hall is a great magnet for those seeking out local produce in and around Staffordshire. Set on a family-run farm close to the Derbyshire border, it is rightly proud of its ‘gate-to-plate’ philosophy, using its own farm’s produce and sourcing high-quality, local suppliers.
In the farm shop, past the bright display of fresh fruit and vegetables, you’ll find an incredible collection of groceries and produce: cheeses, meats, homemade pies, pastries and cakes, fresh bread, wine and beer, and a wide range of pickles, preserves and sauces.
On the tempting deli counter are homemade items like sausage rolls filled with award-winning Staffordshire Sizzler sausages and convenient meals such as cottage pies, quiches and pizzas. A highlight is the stunningly good pork pies, made in the Denstone Hall kitchen with top quality meat and crisp pastry.
Almost all the meat on the impressive butchery counter is sourced from within 30 miles and the 28-day hung beef comes from Denstone Hall’s own herd. There’s also Staffordshire Moorlands lamb, free-range pork and chicken and almost a dozen varieties of homemade sausage. For convenience, you’ll find a butchery fridge with ready-packaged meat, including game when in season, along with prepared meats such as marinated chicken fillets.
Everything in Denstone Hall’s bright and welcoming licensed café is homemade, from pies, cakes and tarts to the sausage or burger in your bap. All the meats come from the butchery counter and even the coffee is made from the cafe’s own blend of beans – roasted in Staffordshire, of course, and served with local milk and cream.
