Farmer Lou started supplying her family with meat back in 2012, having raised two lambs and four pigs. Since then, she’s grown her business and has just opened a new farm shop at her farm in Oakham.
Her animals live beautiful lives and their welfare is something that matters deeply to Lou, she says: “caring for my animals is most important to me, whilst continuing to offer exceptional products for you to enjoy. It sits well in your soul when you know you’ve done your best.”
All products are handmade and the animals are all farmed, butchered, and transported by the farm to ensure the highest standards. Meat can be tailored to the customer – including any cut and any flavour of sausage or burger.
In the shop, you’ll find: pork, lamb and beef, speciality meats and poultry. Farmhouse pies are homemade and there’s artisan craft sausages and burgers. A selection of cheese is on offer, plus free-range eggs, jams and preserves. Much of the produce is locally-made.
You can visit the shop from Tuesday to Friday (8.30am – 5pm), Saturday (9am – 2pm) and Sunday (9am – 12.30pm).
