Gonalston Farm Shop & Deli
Gonalston Farm Shop has undergone a face lift, becoming the first farm shop in the UK to team up with national brand Budgens. Most of the shop’s 80 local suppliers are still present, but new to the range are frozen ready meals from Cook, plus an array of convenience brands. “We have teamed up with Budgens because they enable us to offer a strong convenience range at a competitive price, but we still stock an array of local produce, including meat from our own farm,” says owner Georgina Mason. “We are still a 100% independent farm shop and continue to support many small and local producers. Our butchery counter has not changed at all.”
The deli counter, which offers a large range of artisan cheeses and more, is supported by a new kitchen. A new fish counter next to the butchery now operates every day of the week, showcasing fish that’s delivered fresh each day. The fresh fruit and veg section is as strong as ever, with lots of locally sourced produce – but the addition of a frozen section gives greater choice, making the new-format Gonalston more of a one-stop shop.
Customers can still enjoy the high-provenance Gonalston Farm-produced and locally sourced meat from the butchery, with the addition of some innovative new products packed on site.
Bread from Hambleton Bakery is available, alongside major label breads.
