Trained chef Jenny Smith of Jenny’s Jams is the perfector of preserves, master of marmalades, and connoisseur of chutney. Every jar leaves her kitchen is bursting with flavours and the result of her skills and fine locally sourced ingredients.
And it all started with the summer favourite, the strawberry. Back in 2005, Jenny and her daughter Elinor visited a pick your own farm and picked more berries than they could possibly eat. Keen to not waste any, Jenny decided to have a go at making jam. These jars were given as gifts to friends and family and then they wanted more. And they, in turn, told their friends about Jenny’s jam and so the word spread. Jenny started to sell jars at a car boot sale, and having gained many loyal customers she started to sell at shows, farm shops, delis, restaurants, cafes and hotels.
Today you can choose from a selection of spreads from apricot jam to raspberry and prosecco jam; orange and whisky marmalade to diabetic marmalade and chutneys such as beetroot and the special edition Dambusters Beer Chutney.
