Morton’s Traditional Taste
Norfolk has a reputation for producing the best turkeys in the UK and after visiting Hall Farm, a family-run operation owned by Rob Morton and his brother, it is easy to see why.
Rob Morton’s grandad moved to Hall Farm in 1945 and established a thriving dairy farm. Due to the saddening decline of UK dairy farming, the farm has made a successful transition to arable and poultry. Rob’s brother runs the arable side, while Rob passionately nurtures the turkey business.
The turkeys’ welfare is paramount. Birds arrive in mid June as day-old chicks and are nurtured and reared in a free-range environment over a 24-25 week period. They’re fed locally grown, high-quality feed from nearby Duffield Mill. It’s this slow growth and quality of living that give these turkeys such a fabulous flavour.
Hall Farm specialises in rearing two types of turkey: the ever-popular Bronze and Norfolk Blacks, which have a slightly gamier flavour.
Rob has established a professional, efficient free-range turkey business, allowing him to offer a UK-wide fresh delivery service. Turkeys are sent out in chilled, insulated boxes, arriving in perfect condition in time for a very tasty Christmas.
A great selection of smoked meats is also available from Morton’s own smokehouse.
