The Pantry Door is a small delicatessen and café situated on the High Street in Bugbrooke. The staff are friendly and passionate about supporting local businesses. They sell bread from Northampton’s Good Loaf Bakery, flour from nearby Heygates and, in among their store-cupboard essentials, you’ll find Friars Farm chutneys and jams.
The deli here also sells a wide range of cheeses, including Wookey Hole cave-aged cheddar (what is not to love about a cheese made in a cave?), and one of our favourites – Northamptonshire Blue from Hamm Tun Foods.
The Pantry Door is also a café. There are only a couple of tables inside but it is a great place to sit, relax, eat and drink. We kept popping up out of our seats to look at food on the shelves as various things caught our attention.
All the food is cooked fresh to order. We enjoyed a couple of coffees and two breakfast rolls. The bacon was cooked to perfection and served in a beautifully soft roll. The sausage bun was up there with the tastiest we’ve had. If you fancy something a bit sweeter, The Pantry Door has that covered too, courtesy of its delicious cakes and biscuits.
