Pumpkins Deli in Brinklow near Rugby serves up breakfasts, killer sandwiches, great coffee and some epic cakes.
A fixture in the village since 2010, it has a funky, industrial look complete with rustic wooden tables, a fair bit of metalwork and great lighting. The menu, spreading across an expanse of wall on a large chalkboard, has traditional breakfast options, ploughman’s style platters and sandwiches to tempt you away from any virtuous ‘carb-free’ pledges.
Owners Christos and Holly are passionate about providing fresh, high-quality food, and offer a warm welcome along with their staff. The portions are generous, and while avocado smash on sourdough with poached eggs and smoked salmon hit the spot, it was a ‘New Yorker’ sandwich packed with pastrami, Emmental, gherkin, slaw and mustard mayo that won the day. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options and a tempting takeaway menu for eating on the hoof, and they even do outside catering for any special occasions.
The coffee’s great, the welcome warm and the food is fabulous. Pumpkins Deli provides everything an independent should and long may it last.
