Roberts of Mountsorrel
Roberts of Mountsorrel is a family-run butcher selling beef from their own pedigree herd of Old English Longhorns who graze in the rich pastures of the Soar Valley. In addition to the Longhorns, the Winterton family also carefully source Welsh Black and Aberdeen Angus who supplement the herd through the summer months.
The Wintertons have been graziers in the valley for 200 years and so you are guaranteed that the meat you buy will be of the finest quality – infused with years of knowledge and tradition. All beef has been dry-aged on the bone for 28 days.
The focus is very much on rare breeds and provenance. Venison is sourced from Bradgate Park and lamb and pork are also offered, mindfully chosen from the best local suppliers.
Breakfast cobs are served every Saturday from around 8am until lunchtime and make for a hearty start to the day.
