Rossa Ice Cream
Rossa Ice Cream has won many Gold Stars in the Great Taste Awards and make some of the best-tasting, smoothest ice cream we’ve tried. The reasons for this are clear: they use top-quality ingredients, are proud about what they produce, and have over 100 years of ice cream-making experience in their small family business.
For example, their Pistachio ice cream is made with green Sicilian pistachios, their Coffee Gelato with Illy coffee grounds, their Chocolate ice cream with top-notch Belgian choc, and their Vanilla with the finest macerated vanilla pods. Milk is supplied by local farmers.
As well as being smooth and packed with flavour, Rossa gelato and sorbetto is also easy to serve straight from the freezer.
The Rossa family came to Leicester in 1896 from Antica, a small village in the Italian Apennine Mountains. Their ice cream was first sold in the family’s café, the Japanese Tea Gardens, in the centre of Leicester.
Despite mainly supplying restaurants such as Peter Pizzeria in Loughborough and Amalfi White in Melbourne (Derbyshire), Rossa ice cream is also available at a growing number of farm shops and delis, including Farndon Fields Farm Shop.
