Seasoned Cookery School
Seasoned Cookery School near Swadlincote in Derbyshire is a pleasant, spacious cookery school located in the former stables of historic Catton Hall. Shortlisted in the GFC Awards 2017/18 in the ‘Experience’ category, it is professionally run yet friendly, offering top-notch kit, a great workspace and good, clear, fun teaching.
Tutors include former River Cottage head chef Tim Madams and 2017 Masterchef Champion Saliha Mahmoud Ahmed, plus around 20 other top quality chefs and bakers. There’s a full range of courses including baking and bread-making, Indian, Italian, vegetarian and many more.
Founded in 2010, Seasoned is run by a passionate team who have got everything down to a fine art. On our visit for the One-Pot Wonders course, we enjoyed the relaxed environment, country-house setting and clear teaching. The team on the day, led by Jules and Tania, made sure everything ran like clockwork, from handing us homemade cookies and coffee in the morning, to delivering pre-prepared ingredients to our workstations, to clearing up. The Seasoned ethos is to take pride to deliver the best possible cookery experience.
In addition to cookery courses, Seasoned also offers private parties, team-building cookery days and kitchen hire.
