Situated in the centre of Cambridge just off Bene’t Street, and with a second location about to open in nearby Station Road, this barbecue restaurant is ideal for a pre-entertainment evening meal or lunch.
SmokeWorks smoke, pull, brine and season classic barbecue food and serve it with beer, bourbon and milkshakes. You can order a takeaway if you want, and if you have a big appetite or want to share, go for The Works. It’s a whole rack of baby back pork spare ribs, mixed meat bun, chicken wings, house spiced sausage, meaty barbecue beans, house pickles and fries. There are also some fantastic sides such as barbecue corn on the cob with dripping butter.
For those looking for a challenge and a place on the wall of fame (plus a SmokeWorks T-shirt), try finishing 12 crispy chicken wings: four covered in scotch bonnet sauce and eight covered in ‘Vlad’s Blood Hot Sauce’!
Smaller appetites are well catered for too and there’s a lunch deal of a main, fries and soft drink for £9.50. Children can choose from a pulled pork, beef or chicken bun, fish goujons or mac ‘n’ cheese fritters.
Smokeworks is featured in The Telegraph’s top 10 BBQ restaurants in the UK.
