Staffordshire Savoury Scotch Eggs
Staffordshire Savoury Scotch Eggs began at the farmhouse kitchen table of Deborah and Colin Hodgkinson, with Deborah making scotch eggs as her grandmother had taught her. It’s now a thriving business, selling at local markets, food festivals, selected pubs, delis and farm shops across Staffordshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire and beyond.
Only free-range hen and duck eggs are used in this handmade product and the pork is local, including some from Deborah and Colin’s own smallholding in the Staffordshire Moorlands.
Besides their classic Original, these scotch eggs come in flavours such as Duck Egg & Black Forest Ham (the rich egg wrapped in smoky ham before being encased in pork sausage meat), Breakfast in a Ball (the sausage meat mixed with black pudding), Caramelised Onion, Sweet Chilli, Duck Egg with Plum & Hoi Sin and warmly spicy Boston Jerk.
Staffordshire Savoury Scotch Eggs aims to make something for everyone, so its Spring Onion & Garlic flavour is gluten-free and Sun-dried Tomato & Cheese is suitable for vegetarians. For those who aren’t egg-lovers, there’s even the eggless Pepperbite with a cream cheese-filled mini red pepper at the centre. Whichever flavour you choose, you can be assured it’s made by a business that puts quality at the heart of what it does. And that’s what makes Staffordshire Savoury Scotch Eggs so good.
