Stanleys Coffee House & Eatery
Stanleys arrived in Kettering in 2016, providing a small but modern and welcoming venue. Run by the Roberts family, with son Alex in the kitchen, the menu covers high-quality loose-leaf teas, single-origin hot chocolate, espresso coffees and a small but tasty variety of sweet and savoury food.
Alex was inspired by the food scene in Bristol, where he learnt his trade working in gastro pubs. His aim is to bring the creativity and diversity of Bristol to Kettering – and he has made a great start.
The small food menu includes dishes such as homemade falafel wrap with hummus, salsa, salad and a delicious dressing. Butterbean and spinach salad comes with homemade pesto, and vegetarian enchiladas are served in a toasted wrap with triple-cooked chips. On Saturdays, enjoy avocado and poached egg on sourdough. Sandwiches are available to take out, made with a choice of bread and a wide variety of fillings.
The house coffee is carefully sourced and served as a double espresso with a jug of hot water, allowing the customer to adjust the strength to their taste. It’s a small detail but makes a welcome change. Homemade cakes are available to satisfy a sweet tooth.
Seating space is limited but includes an outdoor terrace for sunnier days. Look out for Stanleys supper clubs run with Devine Bettys, where the menu is themed to a specific country and its BYO wine.
Stanleys may not offer the biggest space or the widest menu, but what is on offer is noteworthy and worth stopping for if you are in the area.
