Starkey’s Fruit Farm
Did you know that Southwell is home to the original Bramley apple tree? Many of the trees on Starkey’s Fruit Farm stem from that original Bramley tree and Starkey’s has been producing fine apple products from its Nottinghamshire orchards since 1910. And the Starkey’s business is still in the same family today.
The original Bramley tree is more than 200 years old and still stands in Southwell today, along with many of its ‘offspring’ (created by taking cuttings from the original tree). Typically, cooking apples would require some sweetening but these Bramley apples require no sugar at all. This is because they are picked at their maturity. The Extraordinary John Starkey range includes variety juices, compotes, cider and cider vinegar. In addition to Bramley apples, there are also other heritage apple varieties and soft fruits such as strawberries and blackberries.
You can purchase these delicious apple products online and across the area. Visit the website for stockists and more.
