A grey day was brightened with a visit (twice in one day in fact) to Teaspoon Tea in Grantham. Centrally situated, Teaspoon Tea is airy and spacious with a mix of comfortable seating and especially pleasant and helpful staff. A mid-morning pot of chai tea and a lovely seasonal mince pie suggested that this would be a good lunch stop too.
Teaspoon Tea specialise in savoury scones as an alternative to the ubiquitous sandwich – spinach and artichoke was delicious and came with butter, chutney, apple and a few neat slices of a good, sharp cheddar. Sandwiches are available too, but the scones are highly recommended. A pot of winter tea seemed appropriate on this the first day of winter. Like all their teas it came with its own timer and guidance on what would make the perfect brew.
Loose-leaf teas can be bought in-store as well as online. Infusers, timers and gift cards are also offered.
With over 40 blends to choose from, the staff will gladly help and suggest if needed. The cakes also look good and feature as part of a very reasonable afternoon tea menu, but they will have to wait for another visit!
