The George Hotel & Brasserie
Situated in the historic village of Buckden just off the A1, this nicely restored former coaching inn is ideally located for locals and travellers alike.
The brasserie offers a good bar menu, a lunch menu (at the time of writing you can choose two courses for £20 or three for £24), and a seasonal a la carte evening menu, which uses plenty of local ingredients. There is a wide selection of wines including 20 house varieties available by the glass. During the summer months you can also enjoy al fresco dining here.
Run and owned by the Furbank family who took it over 13 years ago, The George offers 12 beautifully designed and appointed rooms, each named after a famous George including Washington, Best, Shaw and Harrison. Each room contains a subtle reference to the famous George it is named after.
The George is fully licensed to carry out weddings and also has meeting rooms for private hire.
