The Little Kitchen
The Little Kitchen is a small, friendly cookery school in the Brislington area of Bristol. It was started by friends Claire and Madeleine and offers a whole range of cookery classes for both adults and kids!
Classes are small and informal and cover everything from one-off workshops like ‘Introduction to Pasta’ and ‘Chicken Four Ways’ to courses that run over several weeks and teach you things like how to perfect a celebration cake and cooking for your children. They also offer ‘Dine-in Evenings’, which we think sound brilliant. These evening workshops end in you eating what you’ve made and they are BYOB too! Perfect for birthdays, hen dos and just as a treat with a group of mates.
We also love their range of cookery classes for kids and teens – what a great idea for a kids’ party or to help teach your teenager to cook before sending them off to university.
Although The Little Kitchen came highly recommended to us from friends who’ve been before, we only recently visited ourselves. We were lucky to be there alongside fellow Bristol foodies for a taster evening. We made the most delicious truffles and tried our hands at summer rolls (trickier to roll than you’d think), giving us a taste of both their chocolate and street-food courses. Madeleine and chocolate tutor Louise were friendly and informative. And most importantly, they didn’t rush us! We’ve been on cookery classes when the class tutor whizzes through everything, leaving you thinking… Uhhh what am I supposed to do next??
The Little Kitchen gets a huge thumbs up. They’ve got the balance between fun and education spot on. Expect an informal, relaxed environment where you’ll learn new skills and recipes.
