When you walk into the Norfolk Deli, the vast array of products immediately catches your eye: jars, bottles and packets of all shapes and sizes, not to mention fresh bread, cakes and chocolate. There’s a counter brimming with over 60 types of cheese, sausage rolls, pork pies, mini quiches, a selection of more than 30 cold meats and ham and at least a dozen types of olives and antipasti. You can even order a wedding cake made of cheese! Downstairs there is a wine cellar, more food items, and tables where you can eat or drink food or coffee you’ve purchased upstairs.
The Norfolk Deli isn’t simply a shop: it’s a place where you can try and buy a wide range of locally produced items, you can order a personalised gift hamper that will be delivered free of charge or you can browse the wine cellar for that special bottle to accompany a meal.
Husband and wife owners Mark and Rosie Kacary opened the deli in January 2014, are open seven days a week and do everything themselves to a very high standard. Their hard work has paid off as the deli has won several awards including a Muddy Stilettos award in 2016 for Best Deli and the 2015 Norfolk Food & Drink Award for Best Independent Retailer.
Mark and Rosie’s recent move into outside catering means they now provide food and drink for business meetings, product launches, parties or private events and they also have an online click and collect service for takeaways.
Watch out for regular events at the deli such as ‘Showcase Saturdays’ where you have the chance to meet local food producers and sample their goods.
When you are next in “sunny Hunny”, I recommend a visit to the Norfolk Deli – a true foodie heaven.
