The Peppered Pig
Hidden away off a country lane near Goole in East Riding is The Peppered Pig – a charming and excellent restaurant in a rustic barn conversion. It is an unpretentious, laid-back, cosy, welcoming place at the bottom of a gravel drive.
Sitting neatly in the corner overlooking farm fields is Lola. She is a resident VW camper van in which guests can, should they wish, enjoy afternoon tea. And on our visit, taking afternoon tea in Lola was a good decision. The sandwiches were made with the in-house freshly baked bread, ham from Anna’s Happy Trotters of Howden with chutney from Mercers of York, and smoked salmon and Longley Farm cream cheese. The cakes and mini desserts, all made by The Peppered Pig’s own artisan pastry chef, were sublime.
The Peppered Pig offers a range of lunchtime and evening menus, and also boasts and on-site deli, Pigs Pantry. It is stylish, refined and delicious – go try it!
