The Plough at Bolnhurst
Situated on the edge of the village in rural Bedfordshire on the B660, The Plough – which dates dates back to Tudor times – is not your typical village local!
This highly acclaimed pub cum restaurant run by Martin and Jayne Lee is a magnet for food lovers. The decor is simple but smart with an open kitchen and you will be attended to by a team of helpful staff.
The menu reflects the seasons and the restaurant sources the best available ingredients, delivering big, bold flavours. Expect to find English with Italian and French influences such as Blythburgh pork cutlet with fresh borlotti beans, San Marzano tomatoes & fennel; and Cornish lamb hot pot with roast sweet breads, kidneys, minted Peas & Rosemary. The Plough also has a Josper grill which they use to cook juicy Aberdeenshire steaks and other dishes.
Food is accompanied by an extensive wine list courtesy of Noel Young and there are always real ales on tap. Outside is a big garden which is perfect in the summer months for events such as ‘New Orleans Barbecue’.
Featured in the Good Food Guide’s Top 50 Pubs, The Plough is a special place and a real treat.
