The Real Milk Company
Those of us of a certain age will remember with fondness the jangling of the milk float and those foil-topped bottles deposited at our front doors. If left too long the eager blue tits would have pecked through the foil and syphoned off the cream!
Well, if this is the milk you yearn for, take a trip to The Real Milk Company‘s organic milk vending machine in Halam near Newark. We took a bottle home and it elevated our morning bowl of cereals to a whole new level! It is outstanding.
The New Holbeck Farm is a fourth-generation organic operation run by the Sharman family. Their on-site ‘milk shed’ houses the milk-vending machine and many other goodies. These include locally grown vegetables, fruit, Hambleton Bakery bread and cakes, ice cream and pies from Deakin’s Family Butchers.
The milk shed is situated in a scenic spot. On some evenings – Wednesdays at the time of writing – a pop-up street-food trailer visits. Cycle or drive up, bring a picnic blanket and a beer, and enjoy a wood-fired pizza in rural Nottinghamshire.
