This restaurant was formerly known as Firenze, which over its 13-year lifespan carved out a reputation as one of the best Italian restaurants in the region. Now called The Lighthouse, the emphasis has changed slightly and the kitchen now focuses primarily on seafood.
Still run by Sarah Poli and her Italian husband and head chef Lino, the Kibworth Beauchamp venue prides itself on serving beautifully fresh fish and staying true to its previous standards, which became a benchmark for quality.
The menu features British classics, as well as holding true to Lino’s Mediterranean heritage; think lobster spaghetti, fabulous fillets of sea bass, potted shrimps and sublime fish ‘n’ chips. The aim is to create an affordable and relaxed restaurant.
There is also plenty to please meat eaters and vegetarians. And with Sarah and Lino’s close association with both Italian wine specialist Bat & Bottle and Market Harborough vino expert Duncan Murray, don’t expect an average wine list.
The Lighthouse is the sister restaurant of neighbouring Boboli of Kibworth Harcourt.
