Umami at Wirksworth

The Red Lion Hotel in Wirksworth dates back to the 1700s and is an iconic building in the town with its striking architectural features. While part of the building remains a hotel, it is now home to other businesses too, The Feather Star Pub and restaurant and takeaway Umami offering food inspired by global cuisine.

Meals are fresh and vibrant and include things like: Lu Rau Fan – a Taiwanese chicken dish, south Indian curry Chettinad and Moqueca, a Brazilian fish stew. It’s like taking a trip around the world without leaving Umami’s cosy dining room. A fully-licenced bar means you can find something that perfectly pairs with your meal, too.  If you fancy staying at home, you can order a takeaway – the menu changes weekly and can be found on the restaurant’s social media channels.

Families are more than welcome with children’s dishes always available. On Sundays, it’s roast day and, as well as traditional meat-based roasts, there’s plenty of choices for vegans and vegetarians, so no one need be left hungry.
