Winbirri Vineyards started off as a hobby and within 10 years has established itself as a leading producer of English wines.
Owners, father and son team Steve and Lee Dyer, work tirelessly to produce top-quality English wines. The vineyard is based in Surlingham, just outside Norwich, and is perfectly located to make the most of Norfolk’s climate and habitat.
Lee is a self-confessed competitive control freak. He does everything in his power to produce England’s (and hoping to be the world’s) finest wines. Confirmation of his skill and winning competitiveness come in the form of numerous wine awards, topped off recently by winning the 2016 title of UK Wine of the Year for the Winbirri Bacchus Wine.
“Tour and Tasting Experience Days” are available by appointment. During your tour you will be guided by head winemaker Lee, who will guide you through the vineyards and explain about the history of Winbirri, the methods used to care for the vines and the reasons behind the choice of grape varieties.
Winbirri is widely available throughout Norfolk in independent farm shops, garden centres and independent restaurants including Coldham Hall, Titchwell Manor and Green Pastures Plant Centre & Farm Shop. It is also available in Norfolk Waitrose and Marks & Spencer stores.
Lee assures us that the Winbirri sparkling wines are far better in taste and quality than any French Champagne. Their sparkling wine is the one to watch!
