Robin Maycock Butchers, Holloway, Matlock, Derbyshire – Butcher of the Year
Owen Taylor & Sons
, Alfreton, Derbyshire – Catering Butcher of the Year

Finalists

Mould’s Family Butcher, Nassington, Northamptonshire
Roberts of Mountsorrel, Leicestershire, Leicestershire

Robin Maycock Butchers & Bakery in Holloway near Matlock wins our Butcher of the Year 2020/21 title. It is an exceptional traditional butcher’s shop with a bakery next door that produces pies, sausage rolls and more.

The shop has been in the same family since 1977. Meat is locally sourced and much of it is prepared in the small abattoir to the rear of the shop. This abattoir is one of the last of its kind in the UK and means Maycocks is one of the few remaining butchers with complete control of its products. The pies are award-winning, and you can choose from an array of cheeses, including Stilton from the nearby Hartington Creamery.

Moulds of Nassington and Roberts of Mountsorrel are two exceptional Finalists. However, it’s Robin Maycock that wins the title of Great Food Club Butcher of the Year 2020/21.

In addition, Owen Taylor & Sons wins Catering Butcher of the Year for its outstanding customer service and operational expertise.

The family-run company has been delivering locally sourced, expertly butchered meat all over the Midlands since 1922.

The delivery service – for both retail and catering customers – runs six days a week and includes an impressive late-night-ordering hotline with next-day delivery.

Congratulations to all our Finalists.
