Clawson’s Claxstone is Supreme Champ

Leicestershire’s Long Clawson Dairy has triumphed at the Nantwich International Cheese Awards, held on July 31, scooping Supreme Champion and UK Champion 2013 for Claxstone Smooth Blue, as well as three gold awards.

Long Clawson gained accolades across the award categories for its Claxstone range and own label cheeses, with a panel of cheese connoisseurs and industry experts judging across more than 200 categories.

Janice Breedon, marketing manager at Long Clawson Dairy, said: “We’re delighted to have been awarded the accolade of Nantwich International Cheese Show Supreme Champion. It’s a fiercely contested award and one that we’re thrilled to receive.

“It’s a great reward for the effort of our cheese-makers back at the dairy, especially with one of our most popular cheeses – Claxstone Smooth Blue – which is new to the market.”

Claxstone Smooth Blue is available at The Melton Cheeseboard, Melton Mowbray, which is part of the Great Food Club network.
