Thrussington’s Village Store is the winner for being as close to a perfect little village deli and tearoom as it’s possible to get!

Overlooking the village green, it’s everything you could want from a rural food & drink shop – friendly and warm, well cared-for, at the heart of the local community and, most important for this award, packed with delicious local produce.

You’ll find bread and cakes from Hambleton Bakery, the full range of Manor Farm yogurts from just down the road, a good variety of cheese and charcuterie, local beers and wines, Two Chimps coffee, locally-made samosas, fruit and veg, jams and chutneys from Barlows of Belvoir, and much more.

During the Covid crisis, owners Jo and Ben set up a delivery and a click and collect service and provided sterling service to the local community. It’s hard to imagine a better village deli, which is why it wins this award – despite tough competition.
