Ashby Food Gusto Festival | Ashby de la Zouch

The Midlands best food & drink returns for another year to the Bath Grounds in Ashby de la Zouch on the second Bank Holiday weekend.

There will be lots to taste, drink, eat and enjoy. The event is situated in the beautiful Bath Grounds in the centre of Ashby de la Zouch and will as usual feature a wide range of produce, from locally reared venison and mouthwatering Melton Mowbray pies to farmhouse cheese and lovingly crafted cider.

There is something for everyone! Come along and enjoy lunch – choose from wood-fired pizza, organic beef burgers, venison and bison, spicy homemade samosas, authentic Caribbean BBQ, Indian and Thai cuisine to name but a few. On the drinks front, choose from barista coffee, local craft ale and cider, new British cocktails or English wines grown and produced in the Midlands. If you enjoy shopping you will love the wide range of artisan products on offer.

Event organiser Wesley Ewing states: “Food Gusto is all about promoting what the region has to offer in the way of high quality, local-produced food and drink. Our festivals are an explosion on the senses with lots to see and taste, giving people the chance to try new things and also buy the best food and drink available in our region”

This year Food Gusto has teamed up again with the Rotary Clubs of Ashby de la Zouch who will be running a Teddy Bears Picnic from 11-3pm. Children can enjoy Punch and Judy shows, Splat The Rat, Wheel Of Fortune and join in the ‘Find Rotary Gusto Bears Challenge’. Other children’s entertainment includes rides, bouncy slide, face painting, henna tattoos and glitter tattoos.

Come and help support local producers and relish the taste of great tasting food & drink. Hot food will be available all day so why not join Food Gusto for brunch, dinner or simply afternoon tea. Entrance is just £2 and children under 12 free.
