Cheese-Making Course | Hartingtons of Bakewell
On this one-day cheese-making course, you will learn how to make your own artisan cheese and be tutored on all aspects of this fascinating food by one of the country’s leading cheese-making experts, Phil Heler. This course was recently named in the FT’s top five cheese-making courses. Phil learnt his skills at Reaceheath College and while working in New Zealand.
You will start your day by learning how to make a camembert-style cheese. You will also learn about rennet, temperatures and techniques.
Lunch will include a tutored cheese tasting with a board of UK cheeses.
In the afternoon you will learn how to make a lemon cheese and a mozzarella.
At the end of the day you will have three glorious cheeses to take home and a real insight into the technicalities of the cheese making process.
