Everards’ plan to build a food and drink park near its current brewery site at Fosse Park in Leicester is on track.

The owner of Fosse Park shopping centre, The Crown Estate, has reached a conditional agreement to buy Everards’ current 12.5 acre Castle Acres site so it can extend the shopping park.

Everards is still awaiting planning permission for its proposed state-of-the art food and drink park with modern brewery, but The Crown Estate agreement means there is some certainty over who would buy Everards’ existing site if planning consent is granted.

Stephen Gould, managing director of Everards Brewery, said: “This is an important step not only for The Crown Estate’s plans to extend Fosse Shopping Park, but also for Everards’ aspirations to create a state-of-the-art food and drink park. The sale of the Castle Acres site will allow us to reinvest in our business, reaffirming our commitment to creating jobs and growth in Leicestershire.”
