North’s Bar & Kitchen, Leicester

There’s general rejoicing in Leicester’s West End at the opening of a stylish new independent bar and restaurant. North’s Bar and Kitchen on Hinckley Road is sited in the same corner building that once housed the much-missed Entropy. It’s been smartened up outside and refitted inside, extending the bar and upgrading the outdoor area at the back.

The food doesn’t try to replicate the high-end approach of its predecessor, but does promise simple, affordable British and European food, cooked on-site, and with a commitment to local sourcing. It’s offering lunch, weekend brunch, afternoon tea as well as evening meals.
