Sat Bains plots next Nottingham restaurant

It’s good news for Nottingham and the wider region that Sat Bains is looking to open a second restaurant in the city. It will no doubt pack in the punters. His current place in Lenton – Restaurant Sat Bains – has two Michelin stars and undoubtedly offers extraordinary food. But that said it gets mixed reviews from people I speak to, with opinion ranging from ‘wow – unbelievably good’ to ‘unjustifiably expensive’.

Sat Bains’ recent interview with the Nottingham Post suggests his new restaurant will be more affordable. He told the newspaper: “I’m looking for a site in the Lace Market. It’s going to be something chilled-out, really accessible, like modern British tapas. I’m looking at the new year hopefully, or spring, but we don’t know – nothing is signed.”

Whatever it turns out to be, I bet the Michelin inspectors, and the region’s foodies, will be there in a shot.
