In late 2015 Cocoa Amore outgrew its Silver Arcade home and moved into much larger premises on Silver Street, joining the growing list of high quality independent food and drink businesses around the St Martins area of Leicester.
Wandering by, you might find yourself tempted by the sight of chocolates being hand-made on a granite slab. Enter, and you can try best-sellers such as Eton Mess, salted caramel or Marc du Champagne truffles, as well as enjoy hot chocolate or even match a glass of port, dessert wine or porter with a favourite truffle or chocolate-tinged savoury treat.
Upstairs there’s more production space and also an area for Cocoa Amore’s popular workshops. On offer are two-hour personalised sessions where you can learn all about cocoa production and make your own unique chocolates.
Most of Cocoa Amore’s creations use premium high-quality chocolate from Luker, a socially and environmentally responsible company that is improving the quality of life for farmers in Colombia. The company also has plans to make a difference here in the UK and, inspired by Jamie Oliver’s 15, will be offering young apprentices a chance to learn new skills.
