Lake Isle Uppingham

Lake Isle is a stylish yet relaxed hotel and restaurant in the middle of Uppingham, known for its excellent wine menu and top-class cuisine.

With two AA Rosettes to its name, Lake Isle’s kitchen team are a big fan of local produce and seasonal fruit and vegetables. They cook to the ethos of “what grows together, goes together”, rightly believing that ingredients that share the same season naturally complement each other.

Examples of local produce used at Lake Isle include Colsterworth honey, Manton asparagus from near Rutland Water and lamb from Empingham.

Grade II-listed Lake Isle, which was built in its current form in the 18th century, prides itself on providing a haven of peace and tranquility. The rooms are luxurious and its name comes from a WB Yeats poem – Lake Isle of Innisfree.

In summer there’s a superb terrace for al fresco dining.
