Round Corner Brewing

Round Corner Brewing is an exciting addition to the East Midlands’ food and drink scene that you’ve got to experience for yourself. Located in the heart of Melton Mowbray’s agricultural market, Round Corner boasts an impressive bespoke 20-hectolitre brewkit that can produce five batches a day, plus a gorgeous tap-room. The brewery aims to be a cornerstone of food and drink innovation in a region with a proud tradition of raw, real artisan flavours.

Round Corner (named after a local term for a wedge of Stilton)  is the culmination of a 15-year vision shared by two life-long friends – internationally acclaimed brewer Colin Paige and City director Combie Cryan. “We want to bring beer back to its agricultural roots, and we’re using local supplies including hops from the West Midlands, and building a relationship with local food producers,” says Colin.

Combie adds: “It’s our intention to brew accessible, classic beers, executed perfectly, while embracing the experimentation and discovery that is the hallmark of the UK’s contemporary beer scene, including seasonals and collaborations.” The core range will include a Golden Ale, a West Coast IPA, a Lager, a Black Lager and a Pale Ale, all brewed with Colin’s exacting patience and finesse.

Visitors can see into the impressive-looking brewery on-site, and enjoy a freshly brewed pint in the tap room – with some marvellous market-inspired art by Mat Kemp on display.  At the time of writing, the tap room is open on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and beers are £2.50 for a 2/3 pint.

Called in yesterday and tried the delicious Golden Ale. 2/3 of a pint is a good tasting size and the glasses are very nice. Very welcoming atmosphere. Will be going back to buy a Growler (holds 3 1/3 pints).
