Wharf Distillery & Deli

Set in the beautiful south Northamptonshire countryside, Wharf Distillery & Deli makes spirits, liqueurs, aperitifs and traditional ciders in small batches from raw ingredients.

It has a shop on site, which is welcoming, full of exciting drinks and home to a tasting table. This is an excellent idea that takes the guesswork out of deciding what to buy. After tasting a few drinks, we decided on a small bottle of the single malt Fyr Drenc (a spirit crafted using barley malts and triple distilled in Wharf Distillery’s pot stills), plus a bottle of Long Apple. Long Apple is an apple brandy flavoured with fresh apple juice, nominated in the New Local Drink category at the Carlsberg Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards.

Wharf Distillery is also home a cidery and if you happen to have an apple tree in your garden you can swap the apples for some free cider! Anyone interested in finding out more about the art of cider making can attend one of the in-house courses.

As well as making delicious drinks, Wharf Distillery runs many food events throughout the year including food markets, pizza evenings and drinks tasting evenings.

  1. Phil Drake says:

I stumbled across this little gem purely by accident when stuck in traffic on the A5. As a whisky lover I was delighted to discover a small range of single malts actually distilled on the premises. The distiller was in and kindly gave me a brief tour and told me that they were England’s smallest whisky distillery. I loved their beech smoked single malt and can’t wait for their full whisky to be released.
