Our selection of must-try local curry houses
Great Food magazine’s recent search for Leicester’s best curry houses revealed some great restaurants.
First we narrowed down the field by conducting some word-of-mouth research, then we visited the Indian eateries that Great Food readers had recommended.
Overall winner, scoring 9 out of 10, was one of the city’s newest arrivals, Chutney Ivy (above). Click here for a full review.
Another highlight was curry pub Paddy’s Marten Dhaba (8 out of 10, pictured above both inside and out), which offers a fun and unique dining experience in an off-the-beaten-track part of the city.
Thirty-five-year-old vegetarian restaurant Bobby’s (above) on Belgrave Road also scored highly (8 out of 10) – a curry house that is as bright and cheerful as the luminous sweets behind its large glass counter.
Elsewhere, other high scorers were:
Mem-Saab (8 out of 10)
The Tiffin (8 out of 10)
Anjuna (8 out of 10)
Indigo (vegetarian – 7 out of 10)
