“A confession: I’ve had to take advice from a trainer called ‘The Dogfather’.

“Doing so has wounded me deeply, but since barking violently at a wheelchair-bound old lady, I have come to accept I need assistance.

“Happily, The Dogfather from Northampton also pointed me in the direction of a fine pub – the Griffin’s Head. It’s an untouched sort of place serving good, simple British food and real ales – much needed after the training sessions.”
