Charlie’s, Baslow

Charlie’s is a charming restaurant in Baslow in the Peak District and it’s been run by chef Charlie and Becky since 2005.

We visited for an early evening weekend meal and were greeted by the friendly waitresses who took our drinks order. The interior is intimate but relaxed with simple and stylish décor. The menu offers classic dishes with a European twist such as home-made liver pâté, cod and chips, vegetable Wellington and lemon sole.

We opted for the locally-sourced Derbyshire lamb rump with Dauphinoise potatoes; and cod and chips with mushy peas, followed by the brownie and cheesecake. All were presented beautifully and tasted delicious.

Booking is recommended as this is a popular eatery with locals and visitors to nearby Chatsworth Estate.
