The Dambusters Inn, Scampton

In terms of events British military history – the Dambusters Raid of 1943 is one of the best known and The Dambusters Inn celebrates RAF Bomber Command’s 617 Squadron’s victory.

The village of Scampton attracts thousands of visitors each year who come to soak up the history visiting the church with its sixty-four Commonwealth graves of WWII and eight German war graves. Nearby Lincoln also offers the International Bomber Command Centre (opened in 2018). As such, this themed pub is perfectly placed.

It opened in 1999 and features a private collection of military memorabilia including paintings and photographs relating to the raid. It’s also the site of landlord Greg Algar’s microbrewery so you can expect an excellent range of beer and ales plus hearty pub grub including Grimsby haddock, steak and ale pie and chicken supreme plus a varied vegan and vegetarian offering.
