In terms of events British military history – the Dambusters Raid of 1943 is one of the best known and The Dambusters Inn celebrates RAF Bomber Command’s 617 Squadron’s victory.

The village of Scampton attracts thousands of visitors each year who come to soak up the history visiting the church with its sixty-four Commonwealth graves of WWII and eight German war graves.
