Doddington Hall is a local-food enthusiast’s haven near Lincoln.

This Elizabethan mansion is home to a remarkable farm shop, café, tea room, and Grain Store Café, Restaurant & Bar. Beyond these, the estate’s historic walled kitchen garden is an impressive feature, abundant with fruits, herbs, vegetables, and salad greens. These home-grown ingredients are the heart of Doddington’s culinary offerings and are also featured in the Grain Store bar’s cocktails. Additionally, they can be purchased in the farm shop, which stocks a wide range of local and British produce.

The estate is also engaged in the ‘Wilder Doddington’ project, a 400-year plan focusing on enhancing nature. A key element of this initiative is the herd of rare-breed, pasture-fed Lincoln Red cattle, contributing to biodiversity and carbon sequestration. The high-quality Doddington beef, aged for at least 28 days, is a specialty available in the farm shop.

Doddington Hall, completed in 1600, stands out for its continuous ownership by the same family, never having been sold or cleared out. It remains a treasured, inhabited family home.
