Doddington Hall Restaurant, Cafe & Farm Shop
Sixteenth century Doddington Hall is a spectacular Elizabethan mansion with jaw-dropping gardens, a farm shop, café and restaurant. There is also an India Jane interiors store on-site. These elements make Doddington Hall and Gardens a great destination for a delicious, relaxing and historic day out.
A little history: work began on Doddington Hall in 1595 by Robert Smythson, one of England’s foremost Elizabethan architects. The Hall was completed in 1600 and has never been sold or cleared out since, still being a lived-in and much loved family home to this day.
The 400+ years of unbroken family occupation have resulted in fascinating collections of furniture, weaponry, paintings and porcelain.
History lovers will relish a visit here, and food lovers won’t be disappointed either. The restaurant uses the best local and seasonal produce available, including fresh fruit, vegetables and salad from Doddington Hall’s very own kitchen gardens. Also on the menu is beef from the Hall’s own herd of Lincoln Red Cattle, plus game from the estate. Everything is cooked from scratch and to order.
Meanwhile, the award-winning on-site farm shop offers good quality, seasonal, local food. You’ll find fruit and vegetables freshly picked from the kitchen garden and an abundance of produce from local suppliers. The café offers cakes, coffee and lighter bites.
Doddington Hall also runs plenty of food events to make your visit even more tempting. Click here for a diary.
