Doddington Farm Shop, Cafés & Restaurant

Doddington Hall near Lincoln is an exceptional place to eat, shop and explore. Just a short walk from this magnificent Elizabethan mansion, you’ll find an award-winning farm shop, café, tea room and the acclaimed Grain Store Café, Restaurant & Bar – all showcasing seasonal produce from the estate and local suppliers.

The Grain Store Restaurant, Taste of Excellence’s Best Restaurant of the Year, offers à la carte dining on Friday and Saturday evenings, plus Sunday lunch. Set against views of the Doddington Estate landscape, it serves dishes celebrating Doddington’s own pasture-fed Lincoln Red beef, estate game and Kitchen Garden produce, alongside ingredients sourced from top local growers. Cocktails and wines at the Unicorn Bar complete the experience.

The Farm Shop Café is perfect for relaxed dining, with everything from Doddington beef burgers to lighter bites. No bookings needed – just turn up and tuck in. The Tea Room, in the charming Coach House, serves award-winning afternoon teas, including traditional, savoury and children’s versions, with freshly baked treats and sandwiches to suit all tastes and dietary needs.

The Farm Shop itself is packed with local gems – heritage tomatoes, estate honey, wild garlic, zero-mile fruit and veg, and beautifully aged beef. Doddington’s ‘Wilder Doddington’ project and its rare-breed Lincoln Reds ensure this is a food experience rooted in sustainability and care for the land.

Completed in 1600, Doddington Hall itself has never been sold or cleared out. Remarkably, it remains a cherished, lived-in family home filled with history.
